It's been a while since the last update, so here's where things actually stand: Scantry is roughly 80% complete, and I'm still targeting a Q4 2026 launch.

A few things that have landed recently:

Folders. You can now organize your inventory and shopping lists into folders — useful if you're managing a pantry, a chest freezer, and a garage stockpile separately, or just want less scrolling. Folder-based notifications came along with it, so expiration alerts respect however you've organized things.

Household sharing. Scantry now supports shared households — invite your family (or roommates) and everyone sees and manages the same pantry and shopping list. Invites, membership, and permissions are all in place, so the whole household stays in sync instead of everyone keeping their own separate list.

AI photo scanning. Instead of scanning items one barcode at a time, you can now point your camera at a fridge or pantry shelf and Scantry will identify everything in the shot at once. It's still early, but it's a big step toward making inventory upkeep feel less like data entry.

Smarter meal ideas. The AI-powered meal suggestion engine got a meaningful upgrade — it's now aware of what your household has already tried, won't keep re-suggesting meals you've dismissed, and is more reliable about the structured data it returns. Small thing, but it makes the feature feel a lot less repetitive.

Security. Also worth mentioning: I've been tightening up backend security as I go — the kind of unglamorous work that matters more the closer you get to launch.

The remaining 20% is mostly polish, edge cases, and getting the iOS app ready for the App Store — less "new features," more "make sure it's rock solid." If you haven't already, join the waitlist and I'll reach out the moment early access opens.

Thanks for sticking around. More soon.
